Welcome back to velshi & ruhle. foreign interference may not be the biggest security threat to the 2020 election. the federal election assistance commission held an elections security summit yesterday to discuss concerns about the voting systems that are going to be used. this follows an associated press report last month which found that the vast majority of 10,000 election jurisdictions nationwide use windows 7 or an older operating system to create ballots. program voting machines tally votes and report counts. the reason for the concern is that microsoft is going to stop providing free updates to fix security issues for windows 7 on january 14th, 2020. the company will then start charging a fee for updates. nbc business reporter ben popkin was at that meeting and joins us now. how big a problem is this? it s massive. we re talking about the majority of machines across the nation involved in administering our
