Hours earlier, the afghani president fled the country. He did so to spare the city from more violence. In washington, the White House continues to monitor the situation. This evening, the pentagon announced that another thousand troops are headed to kabul, to help with the deteriorating Security Situation. That brings the total to 6,000 u. S. Troops in the region. To the best of our knowledge, u. S. Military forces and the taliban have not fired at each other. And the u. S. Has not conducted any Air Strikes in or around kabul in the last 24 hours. Secretary of State Anthony blinken said the priority is to get all of the people out of the embassy. They have flown 500 embassy people out on aircraft. They are looking up to 5,000 people per day.
