A COUNCILLOR has raised concerns over sentencing in courts which she believes no longer acts as a deterrent for criminals.
Pat Jones, Ulverston town councillor reacted to the recent sentencing of a man from Barrow who was guilty of harassing a 13-year-old girl.
Leigh Bond, 35, of Redshaw Avenue in Barrow, has been jailed for two months after he admitted harassing the 13-year-old just hours following a court case which saw him handed a suspended prison sentence for trying to meet up with her.
