The City of Hamilton is set to deploy a team to engage Ontario and the Ministry of Transportation on the possibility of taking ownership of the major roadways.
The city says it is committed to rebuilding public trust, making changes and ensuring past mistakes aren't repeated in the wake of the Red Hill Valley Parkway Judicial Inquiry.
After five years, Hamiltonians are finally seeing a report from the Red Hill Valley Parkway Inquiry seeking answers on how a road study was not shared to city staff and council.
So far the city has incurred about $25.5 million in fees associated with the inquiry, much of it additional legal and maintenance costs, solicitors say.
