The Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Nana Agyeman Prempeh, has presented GH¢20,000 on behalf of the government for preparations towards the burial of seven persons who were electrocuted at Amanfrom in the Asutifi South District in the Ahafo Region.
The seven, all with familial ties, died in the disaster apparently induced by a rainstorm accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Tragedy hit Amanfrom, a small farming community near Hwidiem, the capital of the Asutifi South District in the Ahafo Region, when seven members of a household were electrocuted during a severe rainstorm last Friday evening.
The victims were among 10 persons in the house who stepped out to seek refuge in nearby houses when the rainstorm, which was accompanied by thunder, ripped off the roof of their house.
According to the police, the striking of thunder disengaged the main electrical cables from an electric pole and the victims accidentally stepped on some live wires in the process of escaping the danger.

Seven persons were last Friday electrocuted and four injured during a rainstorm, at Amanfrom in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region.
The incident occurred when the rainstorm destroyed power lines and landed onto the roof of some buildings that were being occupied by the victims.
The deceased are Mrs Akosuah Kwarteng and Mrs Rebecca Kwarteng and their children, Christian Oduro, 19, Osei Kwadwo, 5 , Kwabena Emmanuel, 10, and Owura Kwaku , 7, and Mrs Yaa Bertha.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Paul Ankan, who confirmed the incident to the
Ghanaian Times, said he received news at about 5:45 pm last Friday that a rainstorm had ripped off some houses at Amanfrom resulting in the electrocution of seven people.
