My colleague joins me now. the examples that we cited there, the pictures that we were showing the viewers. that s just a few of these allegations. right. that s just a few. i know there are more. i ve been talking to sources in texas from the department of public safety and there are several more complaints file by officers. state troopers working the border, following the greg abbott policy, the governor s policy. following the texas department of public safety policy. the apprehension of these migrants and what they re saying is, what they re doing is inhumane. the way they re treating these migrants. one of the issues is you talk about the razor wiring. what they have done is the way they have placed it, according to the allegations from the troopers. they re making the migrants go into the deeper end of the water. so in the shallow end, you have all the razor wiring. the migrants have figured out, if they go to the deeper end, they may be able to get around it. in the deeper end
Migrants. one of the issues is that you talk about the razor wiring, but what they have done is the way they have placed it, according to these allegations from these troopers, they are making the migrants go to the deeper end of the water, in the shallow and you have the razor wire in but the migrants figured out that if they go into deeper and they would be able to get around it, what is happening on the deeper and is they are drowning. this one state trooper wrote about how there were five deaths in that one weekend he was there. most of them as a result of drownings. kids, babies, mothers carrying their kids over and they are dying in this water. he also describes how they come across large groups of people, hundred 20 people and basically what the troopers are told to do in the national guard, push them back in the water. force them into the water, make them go back to mexico. these people have spent, you know, enormous amount of times getting there, they are tired they weren t gi
Mig migrants, how they are treating the migrants. and one of the things he talks about in a memo he writes to his bosses is there s this razor wiring they ve put across the water to try and prevent migrants from coming to land, and that razor wiring is causing a lot of destruction and harm to the people that are crossing. what we have found is that in some of the photos that were released, you could see there the injuries on this one individual across his stomach. he was caught in the razor wiring. they had to actually cut him out and bring him to land. the other thing what s going on is that because of the way they have placed the razor wiring, which is sort of on the more shallow end of the water, people are going to the deeper end to try and get to land, and they are drowning. so there were five people who died during the week that this particular trooper was working the operation. it s so stunning and really just unprecedented to see a state trooper complaining to his bosses about
Let just read through some of those. was a four-year-old who was passed out in 100 degree heat, a man with a laceration on his leg from razor wiring, a 15- year-old with a broken leg and a 19-year-old who was trapped in razor wire after having a miscarriage. i have been on the border multiple times and people do get hurt and there is death that they are tying this directly to the texas governor s actions. now he has put out a statement saying that no orders were given for trips to send people back to mexico or not to get the water, but the white house is sounding the alarm and talking about it today. take a listen. this is what we see over and over and over again from this texas governor, from governor abbott, and all we are asking for as a country and what we should hold near and dear is the basic human decency. basic human decency and we are just not seeing this.
