An undercover officer is in the hospital tonight with serious injuries after an encounter with a teenage suspect. Fox 13s evan lambert is in st. Petersburg with a look at what happened and how that officer ended up hit with a bullet from his own gun. Reporter st. Pete police say that officer is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound to his hand, his gun during a traffic stop. This is how it all started. Last night around 11 00, a group of Police Officers spotted a car driving erratically. The driver sped off when they tried to do a traffic stop.
