County celebrates Gunnin during retirement ceremony

Prior to Tuesday night’s Cherokee County Board of Commissioners meeting, county officials took some time to recognize retiring Commissioner Ray Gunnin in a special ceremony. After thanking everyone for coming out to honor Gunnin, Fire Chief Tim Prather said that, when thinking about Gunnin and his career, he kept coming back to the description of a lifelong community servant for Cherokee County. He also said the day marked the end of an era. “He has always been a strong supporter of public safety. You have my highest admiration. I want to wish you and your wife Cindy many great years to enjoy each other,” Prather said.
