Thanks to help from state Rep. Anne Stava-Murray, a group of Naperville residents and a nonprofit group secured $1 million in state funding to help homeowners repair significant yard damage caused by the 2021 EF-3 tornado.
Less than two months after appearing before the Naperville City Council to ask for help raising money for residents still struggling with yard damage in the wake of the 2021 tornado, Kristy Kennedy and Kelly Dougherty have found a nonprofit partner, created a website and set a goal of $1.5 million to repair the hardest-hit areas.
Naperville residents are seeking assistance from the city in finding a nonprofit partner to help them distribute donated money directly to homeowners still dealing with the aftermath of last year s tornado.
