ahead of the polls. if we forget for just a second about analysis and trying to say which pollster is better than the other pollster, or how are we unskewing this or that or whatever, and we just look at the aggregates, simple, top line numbers, the polls did a pretty good job. if you look back at national house polling, most of the sort of major aggregates said the republicans were going to have a very narrow victory. races haven t been called yet, but by my estimation, we re on track for the republicans to have a narrow victory in the national vote. if you look at it on a race-by-race basis and throw trafalgar and the other pollsters into an average with everyone else, you see the close races were close, and the b blowouts ended up being blowouts. they predicted the winner in ohio, north carolina, wisconsin. the average got it right, i would say, in arizona. so i think if you just sort of, you know, simplify a little bit and just look at the numbers,
nicolas. if senator graham is saying that, should senator mcconnell, leader mcconnell, actually be worried that, let s say, republicans do take the majority in the senate? or even if they don t, that if mcconnell isn t sufficiently loyal or subservient to donald trump, that his hold on the leadership position could really be in jeopardy. that certainly could be a problem, but we should look at some of the primaries going on right now for republican senators. you know, a lot of these folks, even as they ve tried to court trump s endorsement, really tried to back trump candidates in these races haven t necessarily ruled out supporting mcconnell. congressman bill brooks has not necessarily ruled out supporting mcconnell even as he s supposed to be one of the trumpier

lot in this race. two rallies in two weeks, three in the last five weeks. a whole bunch of tweets leading up to the actual vote. do you think the result is a reflection on the president s problems, or perhaps more of a local issues election? well, it s hard to say. we do see a pattern occurring. when he has really stumped for people, whether it was the senate race in alabama or the governorship in kentucky, these races haven t been won by the people that he has backed. louisiana was a state that in 2016 trump won by 20 percentage points. it was a huge margin for him. but that wasn t going to be enough for the republican to defeat the incumbent john bel edwar edwards. john bel edwards was a popular governor. he had over 50% approval rating and still won by a close margin. i think we can take away a couple of things. this was a fairly popular governor.
