(JTA) — Rabbi Harold Kushner, one of the most influential congregational rabbis of the twentieth century whose works of popular theology reached millions of people outside the synagogue, has died.
Kushner said when bad things happen to good people, it is a religious community’s responsibility to offer them the compassion and solace they crave in the form of chesed.
