Aintree Grand National Festival Tips - Day 1 - Thursday, April 8

Aintree Grand National Festival Tips - Day 1 - Thursday, April 8 Reporter: ); I m not quite sure why ELDORADO ALLEN (7/1) seems to be the forgotten horse in the market here. Hitman, Fusil Raffles and The Shunter are all priced up ahead of him in the market despite him chasing home the best horse on show at last month s Cheltenham Festival, that being Nicky Henderson s Shishkin. He was 12 lengths behind Shishkin that day but finished ahead of the likes of Captain Guinness and Allmankind. He was eight and a half lengths behind Shishkin at Doncaster before that but had claimed two wins over fences prior to that, including a 19-length success of Quel Destin at Cheltenham last November. The ground won t be a problem and he can finally get his head in front again out of the shadow of Shishkin.

Paul Nicholls: Momiral has a great chance at Donny and Tommy is in top order for Cheltenham

He ran very well first time over fences when second at this track to Eldorado Allen in a Graded race. It was obvious that day that he needs further than two miles so stepping him up four furlongs now should suit him much better. I m sure Quel Destin will win plenty of races over fences, hopefully starting here. Another big run expected from Saint while Capeland can get involved also Capeland looked to have every chance at Ascot three weeks ago when he led two out before finishing third in the race won by First Flow. In hindsight Capeland maybe got there a little bit too soon that day because he was going so well. On a different day and a different track this time there is no reason when he can t be involved again.
