Red Bank Council Looks to Update Public Comment Protocols, Investigation for Two Interrelated Borough Employee Complaints

SCOTT WINGERTER March 8, 2021 at 2:30 AM RED BANK, NJ: The Red Bank council meeting will be held electronically this Wednesday, March 10, 6:30pm. Highlights of the agenda: A Resolution to adopt updated Public Comment protocols.  According to the new rules: “The (public) speaker within the allotted five (5), minutes, may ask follow-up questions to gain a better understanding and clarity on the issue being discussed, but the Public Questions & Comments period shall not be conducted as an interrogation or cross-examination.  The Mayor, or whomever holds the question(s), will make every effort to answer the question(s) at the time of asking, if possible, before moving to the next speaker. If such answer is not readily available, the Mayor or holder of the question(s) shall indicate to the speaker the method by which the question will be answered.”
