Section 702 of the fisa Amendment Act was intended to provide for vast and powerful surveillance of foreigners overseas who might do harm to us, and it does. But the fact that it is an effective surveillance tool used against foreigners abroad is not the concern you hear about today. Researchers manipulated the newsfeeds of some 689,000 users to determine whether positive or negative contact influenced them. One of the studys author says already apologized. Google will have to face a classaction lawsuit over its street view Data Collection. This after the Supreme Court refused to consider googles appeal of a lower courts ruling, allowing the privately privacy lawsuits to go forward.
