Come home and today we spoke to a bay area resident stuck with his wife in lima peru. We are coming back from lima. We were at that airport when we found out. We found what was going on. We tried everything we could to get on this flight. Everything was booked or canceled. Weve been at an air bmb where weve been for 12 days. We dont know whats going on. We dont know when we will get that phone call or when we would get the email that we could go home. Im an essential worker in San Francisco at a Grocery Store in San Francisco. My team is just having a hard time there. I want to be able to help them but i cant. Do you feel safer down there or would you feel safer here . You know, theres a lot of things they are saying you dont want to go back right now. Theres fewer cases here. I want to see my animals, my motherinlaws taking care of our house and our animals, shes 75 years old. She doesnt need to be exposed to this. From the day i received the email from them that they were trapped in
In santa clara, makeshift hospitals are set up for coronavirus patients. Its one of the measures they are taking to prepare for a surge in cases. A new wave of closures for many bay area parks and beaches to prevent a repeat of last weekends crowds with insufficient social distancing. A lifeline for california renters with a statewide eviction ban and why some worry that is only a bandaid. Its just about 6 00 a. M. On the saturday, march 28. Another weekend morning and that means ive got rain to look at on my doppler radar. There is a pattern. Scattered but occasionally heavy and that is a way to describe what it will be for just about anybody who is out early on this saturday morning. On hidef doppler, there is light rain and heavy rain like devon was talking about, you will have not a lot of yellow but there are some in the east bay and some approaching the peninsula and thats what the radar looks like, more impressive than the rain that is out there and fairly light for most of us.
Shouting the Design Museum in london has moved into a new home, and its suitably stunning. I have come to see fear and love, an exhibition of 11 designers reactions to our increasingly complex world. The most animated star on show has to be an industrial robot arm, which its owner hopes will present a more friendly face to robotics, and even maybe help us empathise with mechanoids of the future. It senses where you are and comes bounding over to see you, but if it gets bored, it will turn its attention to someone else. It is a bit like an excitable puppy, actually. Who knows, installations like this may help to allay our fears of being around giant machines like this. I have to say, it will still be a while before i trust this thing with a scalpel, though, for example. That said, computers are increasingly being used in healthcare around the world. There is plenty of research into how Artificial Intelligence can help doctors to better look after patients. Jen has been taking a look at
I met doug fine last year on colorado day on his first when we found each other in front of the cab little with the hoisting of the hemp flight that went up above the capital.
