When it was revealed earlier this week that the series would not go into production this fall, online users started to mock the project anew. The reactions have now prompted a response from 71-year-old Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW network, which commissioned the pilot. He told

Powerpuff Girls series, which is being developed by The CW, is set to be rewritten and reshot with all of the lead cast, writers and producers remaining on the project.
Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, who serve as writers and executive producers, will also be handling the rewrite for the series set to star Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault, and Donald Faison as Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, and Professor Utonium respectively. The long-time producer of CW show’s Greg Berlanti will team with Sarah Schechter and David Madden to executive produce via Berlanti Productions. Warner Bros. Television will also produce.
