MUMFORD â The historic village and Genesee Country Village and Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Rd., is bedecked in its holiday finery as villagers bustle with preparations for the holiday season.
Visitors may stroll through self-guided excursions on the museum grounds as part its âYuletide Open House,â which continues this weekend.
Visit nine historic homes open for small group visits to explore the evolution of seasonal customs, and how those customs influence communities today. Along the way, visitors may find themselves picking up ideas for their own holiday table as they savor the intoxicating scents of holiday dishes.
Visitors may also delight in high Victorian era decorating, hear about Hannukah and the lighting of the menorah, investigate the growing popularity of gift-giving, and experience the anticipation of a holiday wedding.
