Fatal Car Crash LAMAR At 11:59 p.m. on April 23, a fatal car crash was investigated by State Police at Lamar on I-80 in Lamar Township. According to police, David Gentles, 59, of Newton, NJ, was traveling westbound on I-80 in a 2019 Toyota Camry when he lost control causing him to spin counter-clockwise. Gentles allegedly slid in a southwest direction across the left lane leaving the road on the south side. He then struck a rock wall off the left side of the roadway causing disabling damage according to police. He came to a final rest on the south side of the roadway. Gentles was allegedly wearing a seatbelt and his side curtain air bags were deployed. Gentles was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Clinton County Coroner.

Driving under the influence LOGANTON At 4:45 p.m. on April 6, a traffic stop was conducted by state police at Lamar along Interstate 80 East in Greene Township, Clinton County. The arrestee allegedly was traveling at a high rate of speed near milemarker 193. According to police, the operator, a 20-year-old 20, man from Terre Haute, Ind., was arrested for DUI. The vehicle was subsequently searched by police which yielded controlled substances. Charges are pending. PFA violation BEECH CREEK At 3:30 p.m. on April 4, a PFA violation was investigated by state police at Lamar along Eagle Valley Road in Beech Creek Township. According to police, Zachary Zidick, 28, of Beech Creek was observed on private property. Charges were filed and Zidick was picked up and taken in custody, according to police.

The call was cleared at 10:06 a.m. At 3:26 p.m., the Avis Fire Department, State Police at Lamar and Pine Creek Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries. The call was cleared at 3:42 p.m. At 9:07 p.m., the Dunnstown Fire Department responded to a tree down at the intersection of Lin Ridge Drive and Brewery Hollow Road in Woodward Township.
