Ducklings snared the heart of a Pueblo wildlife law enforcement officer


A hiker on Saturday helped save the lives of two domesticated ducklings that were abandoned near the Lake Pueblo Reservoir.
Tasha Reed, an animal control officer with the Pikes Peak Region Humane Society, was called to the scene due to her close proximity.
Once she saw the ducklings, she knew they needed to join her family.
Ducks and rabbits are popular creatures in the spring, especially around Easter, which was April 4. Calls for abandoned but domesticated ducklings or rabbit kittens often rise around the holiday, as the animals are purchased as decorations or themed presents during the season.
After the owners find out how much effort is needed to care for the animals, or once the event is over, the animals are abandoned.  ....
