City of Phoenix testing program for at-home pickup of hazardous materials
Phoenix is launching a new six-month pilot program to get rid of household hazardous waste.

PHOENIX â Starting Tuesday, January 19th, Phoenix homeowners will be able to schedule a pickup time to have someone come to their house to dispose of hazardous materials, such as pool chemicals, paint thinner, aerosols, remotes, and batteries.
It is part of a six-month pilot program the City of Phoenix is testing. Before, people would have to drop items up at a central location.
COVID-19 is a reason for the program, according to Lucas Mariacher, who works for Phoenix s Public Works Department.
