swamped. like this one in gaithersburg. flood advisories are in effect across some of the area, but the only wet stuff you will see is already on the ground. yeah. that was a wet day yesterday. no doubt. but hopefully we dry out today. good morning. welcome to news4 today on this sunday, i m adam tuss. i m angie goff. chuck, we re still dealing with some problems out there. oh, man it will take a little while to get all the creeks and streams back into their banks and get everything dried out a bit. crazy record breaking amounts of rainfall yesterday. two to three inches or more was common in many areas. still some flood advisories coastal flood advisory along the tidal, potomac and washington area. flooding in the pools area in montgomery area, northern frederick and northwestern carroll county. and along the tidal along the chesapeake bay as well. as far as rainfall, the last of the drops now on the lower parts of the eastern shore, they re moving away from us.

news4 today starts now. we re still watching the weather this morning. a lot of you are cleaning up from yesterday s storms in leonardtown, a tornado came through. take a look at some of the new pictures we got. shows all the damage it caused. the tornado damaged more than a dozen buildings including three homes. looking at a few of them. it also toppled more than 50 trees out in the maddocks area. it was wet in falls church, you can see the kids decided to play in the rain. even though the streets are half flooded, the kids were splashing each other. we re following everything you need to know about the weather with team coverage today. chuck will join us in a minute with his forecast but right now he s go to derrick ward in upper marlboro where there s a lot of flooding going on. reporter: indeed it s high waters, not high winds that caused the damage here. we re looking south to the show place arena, appropriately named water street. it is starting to subside now,
