The ticket sales so far equated revenue of about $205,000, compared to the usual $50,000 to $60,000 received on a first day of sales, in the previous three or four years, Crawford said. Last year 3600 tickets were sold to the annual event, which had also sold at record-breaking speed despite uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic, and borders being closed. Two of this year’s workshops had already sold out, on the first day of ticket sales.

Garden Marlborough president Tim Crawford says ticket sales have been “unbelievable” for this year’s event. Crawford said organisers were considering adding extra tickets or workshops “if it’s possible, without compromising the quality of events, or opportunities for people to speak to presenters”.
