Its a little hectic here, we were here at the hospital as they were doing some of the action earlier. You can see video we shot of patients being wheeled out of the hospital. That was an evacuation done so that the fire crews and inspectors could go in and make sure the hospital was stable and safe. They set up a tent outside in order to take care of some of the patients and anybody else that might be able to come in. Again, they were taking patients out, sometimes in wheelchairs, in order to make sure that everything inside was safe. They have set up in the parking lot to take care of anybody else that comes in as well as of course to take care of existing patients. Kpix 5s anne makovec showing us the new lot menton to lessen the gridlock. Drove the new lot opened up at 9 and it has definitely caused some confusion. Spec im looking for the waiting lot. Reporter up until this morning, uber and lyft drivers waited for a pickup lot the southside of sfo. The new lot is on the north side, adjacent to the cell phone waiting area. It is a little confusing. Reporter with 240 force pop, and has more than doubled the size of the old lot. As of this morning, there were still painting stripes. And even airport workers seemed confused. They do not give me the right instruction. They tried to get over here but they do not see the signal. And i go back to la 1 and 2 back a millbrae avenue. Can you just give us an update . You say you believe there have been five fires. Youre not entirely sure if theyre under control. I do not know that officially. As i look around me i can see smoke but i cannot see i cannot see other than one, and thats still black smoke. Theres others that im sure that i only know of the report. And you mention as we stay on these images, you mention checking in with an assisted living facility. Did they have power . Is power totally out where you are . Have been ruptured, which can be extremely dangerous. There can be explosions, we have heard from the Fire Department they are going on emergency calls for potential injuries as well. It was centered there in ridgecrest northeast of here in los angeles, but certainly felt here as well, and about assen hour ago in San Bernardino from where the epicenter was, theyre talking about potentially cracks in buildings, some rockslides, and structures that are damaged. This was a very big event that hasnt been seen in Southern California in quite some time we are not hearing that this may not have been one particular quake, but two different faults may have ruptured during this 6. 4 event there in the ridgecrest area, which would explain some of the damage were seeing. Also seeing big cracks in one of the highways there. At least 58 aftershocks have happened is now evacuating people, the reason for the evacuation hasnt been spelled out, but the reasons for evacuation like at a place for a hospit
