Two men jailed for separate acts of allegedly throwing acid on women were indicted Tuesday by an Oahu grand jury for conspiring to carry out the Jan. 23 assault on a 25-year-old Chinese-language teacher to cast doubt on who committed a 2023 attack in Mililani.
Police say the 25-year-old woman who was attacked Tuesday night near Ala Moana Center with a chemical that burned her skin and clothes had told witnesses that her attacker was an unknown man who threw an unknown liquid on her.
A 21-year-old man accused of throwing an acidic liquid on his ex-girlfriend in Mililani told police he was hiking with a friend near Hanauma Bay on the night of the April 7 attack.
