they talked about it. they talked about balance budget amendments. huckabee and kasich talk about how they balance budgets although they come from places where you have to balance the budget by law. the application of it is a little bit, you know, not really a fair comparison. they talked about that a lot. again, you look at a lot of their plans. they include cuts in taxes, increases in spending, and increases in the deficit. every president since nixon has increased the deficit and has seen the debt limit or the debt go up afterwards. the party that s supposed to be about smaller government and less debt didn t come up with solutions to that tonight. no. i mean, i think that the irony actually is there s one president out there who didn t contribute to the deficit all that much, and it was a democrat, it was clinton. he balanced the budget for a short period of time, right? i think that kasich tonight, i think, made the strongest case for a financial house in order. of cou

christina grijalva (grih-hal-va) has more about what goes into those decisions. christina jenna with the caucuses just a few days away candidates are making that last push for votes here in sioux city. but at this point what effect has venue choice had on the presidential candidates. gop hopefuls have held events in big venues such as the orpheum and the convention center while others have had campaign events at smaller locations like coffee shops. some candidates stick to big events to show the enthusiam and momentum in their support. but attorney and adjunct professor kyle irvin says small events can bring something else to the table and still can help a campaign. if a candidate is only doing small events at the coffee shops, that that s uh a bad move, or better or worse or otherwise, because in those situations maybe the perception is , um it s still kind of a personal politics. donald trump will be at the orpheum hillary clinton will be at the center for that
he opted out of that debate. again, today, saying he made the right decision to skip the debate.just days before the caucus. at a rally in new hampshire today. he said he wanted to focus the attention on a group he deeply cares about: veterans. i took a chance and its something you have to do and we did something and i don t even know the end result but we went up and the end result is i did the right thing and i did the right thing because i did something great for veterans and when you think of it these politicians are on that debate most don t know what they re doing, they are talking, talking, talking and we re raising money for incredible people especially when you heard jon last night so there was something really nice about it. it could not have been better, it was a ten, you know as they say when something works out, it was a ten. stephanie: trump s rally did not pull in nearly as many viewers as the gop presidential debate, however. the front- runner had told rep
