Very heavy rainfall across much of the state of florida, even inland and on the east coast. this area in red from orlando to tampa bay is most at risk of flooding rain over the next three days. michael brennan, we appreciate your time. we know you re busy. thank you so much. thank you. with ian now forecast to reach major hurricane status to be the as it nears couba, peopl there understandably preparing as well that s where we find patrick otman. reporter: good morning, people in this area are holding their breath to see if the storm hits the western tip of cuba or comes further east into the p populated areas in havana. and so the government is warning people to be paying very close attention. certainly people who live in low-lying areas will probably have to evacuate. the storm is hilting a country that is batterered economically.
(pilot) we re going to be on the tarmac for another 45 minutes or so. it has been a month since hurricane dorian slammed into the bahamas, completely devastates so many parts of the bahamas. hundreds of people, if not thousands, still missing, so many homeless. cnn took you there to the ground, among them patrick otman. you met so many people who lost everything. as you went back to see them now, how are they doing?
That weren t supposed to be in the bahamas to come in to the united states, including some very bad people and some very bad gang members and some very, very bad drug dealers. we asked the white house for some specifics about that claim that you heard there. we have not heard back. patrick au patrick otman has spent most of his hours in the bahamas. patrick, i know you went to the place that bahamian officials say over the last 24 hours that officials haven t gotten to yet. what did you find there? reporter: absolutely, it was an area that s cut off. the road has been washed out, and we have not heard any word from the people there. so, naturally we wanted to go and visit. and when we got in, there was a bit of a shock that the channel had been completely washed out. so, it was a little dicey getting in. and there were probably 10 or 20
