THE overture by Star president and first deputy chief minister Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan for a merger between the Sabah Tanahairku (Star) party and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) reflects one of Star’s slogan, “Unity is Duty”, a demonstration of his ultraistic motive for a larger and stronger Momogun-based political entity.
The polemic on the identity of the indigenous peoples of Sabah has been a point of highly emotive contention since the congress of the Unko (United National Kadazan Orgnisation) whch was followed by the creation of the United Pasok Momogun Organisation (Pasok Momogun) in the early 1960s.
