– The Paso Robles Bearcats Football team (4-3) travel south to play the Santa Ynez Pirates (5-2) Friday night. The Bearcats have lost two in a row, and they’re looking to rebound against the Pirates. They were defeated by Mission Prep 28-7, and St. Joseph 38-10 after winning four consecutive games.
– The Paso Robles Bearcats lost to Mission Prep Friday night in San Luis Obispo, 28-7. Each team entered the game with a 2-0 conference record in the Mountain League. The Royals scored twice in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead. The Bearcats drove the ball into the Royals' red zone in the first quarter and fumbled on the Royals one yard line in the second quarter. At halftime, the score was 14-0.
– Friday night football games will be much cooler this weekend. Because of the heat last week, Paso Robles Bearcats did not start play until 8:15 p.m. on Friday night in Porterville. This weekend, conference play begins for all Central Coast football teams except the Tempelton Eagles.
– North County High School football teams travel this weekend for early season games. The Paso Robles Bearcats travel to Porterville to take on Monache High School. That game will be played at Granite Hills High School in Porterville at 8:15 p.m. tonight.
