(File photo) MANILA - The Pasig City government has started the grant of monthly local pension to some 16,669 elderly residents. Qualified senior citizens will get PHP500 which can be received via the beneficiaries' automated teller machine (ATM) cards. In a statement Wednesday, the city government said it will also schedule a manual distribution of pensions for non-ATM holders per village. It also urged the beneficiaries and family representatives to refrain from going too early to the distribution venues and to secure all necessary documents required for availing of the pension. Observing public health protocols during distribution activity is still required. Meanwhile, the city government is encouraging parents of fully vaccinated immunocompromised minors, aged 12 to 17 years old, to have their kids administered with the first booster Covid-19 shot.
