After two years of being impassable, Dark Hole in St Joseph is now paved and smooth.
Dark Hole fell away in 2018, when a portion of the road collapsed into the nearby gully, prompting residents of St Sylvan’s to express concerns about how the closure of the major vehicular artery would affect their remote community as well as about further slippage.
When contacted, Member of Parliament Dale Marshall said he was pleased the work was completed.

Water is uppermost on the minds of some St Joseph residents.
Around noon today, some Vaughn’s Road and Horse Hill householders pulled out placards, chanted and marched to the constituency office of member of Parliament Dale Marshall.
They chanted slogans such as “they treating we real mean, can’t wash, can’t cook, can’t clean”, as they complained about having no running water for weeks and empty community tanks.
