Building. reporter: well, i ll be honest with you. that s just my own suspicion. okay. reporter: but as we look at the bus up there, i mean, it underscores the broad point about the fact that this is a transit hub, and normally you would see many buses in this area. i think we re going to have a real gridlock. i d be anxious to hear what wtop radio has to say in d.c. because they are the authority on traffic. all things traffic in d.c. everybody tunes to wtop to find out what the late set on the commuting nightmares and i would imagine they will be all over this. absolutely. when you think about all the businesses around there and people starting to leave their work dey, an hour or two, traditional work day getting off at 5:00. that could also present a problem. reporter: if you re a federal employee, you may have ducked out as early as 4:00 depending on when you came to work. one other caveat to keep in mind is montgomery county schools went back into session this week, so t
All of this, i mean, this is dramatic enough and we are hoping for a very quick, peaceful resolution, but it s coming up on 4:00 in the nation s capital, and school is back in session throughout this area. what that means, of course, is that we are going to have this is a very busy transit center for anybody who rides the subways or metros in and out of d.c. and the buses and what have you. this is going to cause a major headache for commuters in the d.c. area who are trying to come from d.c. out into the maryland suburbs in the course over the course of the next hour to two, one would think. unless this resolves itself very quickly because they have literally shut down the main transit center and the surrounding streets in downtown silver spring which, as i said, is a major commuter hub so you can only imagine the ripple effect that this will have in life in and around the district of columbia and maryland over the course of the next few hours. police, there is a very heavy police
