PARKERSBURG U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., was in Parkersburg Thursday to talk to local leaders about what communities can expect from funding in the American Rescue Plan.
The direct funding will be given to counties and communities for COVID-19 recovery, water, sewer and broadband projects. Wood County will receive $16.2 million with $320,000 going to North Hills, $22.45 million to the City of Parkersburg, $2.69 million to the City of Vienna and $1.19 million to the City of Williamstown. Tyler County will receive $1.67 million with $50,000 going to Friendly, $310,000 to Middlebourne, $970,000 to Paden City and $530,000 to Sistersville. Wirt County will receive $1.13 million with $350,000 going to the town of Elizabeth.
