saying they want guidance on being hung on one count. theoretically, they could be having some dissension on other counts too. paul, one more quick question here. as a former prosecutor, if you re robert mueller and you know you have another manafort trial, you re under constant attack by the president of the united states, you have to decide what to do with the papadopoulos sentencing, the michael flynn sentencing. you know the other evidence you have or don t have, are still looking for. how important is it to win the first one out of the gate when you re not only in a complicated legal situation but an incredibly complicated political mess? it is very important, john, to win that first one because, you know, mueller has been under constant attack bit president. the president has got a new derogatory nickname for mueller every week. there s a new one that s added to the list. so his credibility is on the line here, and that is so important in an investigation like this and in tri
sentencing sometimes gets pushed off. there are some people in the legal community who look at that and say, it may be some new information came to light and he s cooperating more fully and they are deciding to change what they are thinking about for michael flynn, we don t know. what we do know on the papadopoulos sentencing is, in the mueller documents, he comes off as not a big figure at all. and for all the folks that thought he was wearing a wire or something like that, it just doesn t seem like he s that big of a figure. dana: in the meantime, we ve been following the manafort trial and the jury sent a note to the judge today saying, what happens if we can t come to consensus on a single account, or on one count? what happens to the overall verdict? the judge says, go back and try to get consensus on everything. so, manafort certainly on trial and also rick gates, both had
this hour, i ll speak with former u.s. attorney, preet bharara. first, let s go to sarah murray with more on the papadopoulos sentencing. he got two weeks in prison and a fine. that s right, wolf. it seems the judge did really believe george papadopoulos felt bald for lying to investigators and so he will be incarcerated, but not for long. tonight, george papadopoulos, a former foreign policy adviser to the trump campaign, sentenced to two weeks in prison and a 9500 fine. papadopoulos expressing regret for lying to investigators about his kremlin linked contacts, telling the judge, people point and snicker and i am terribly depressed. his lawyer argued for leniency, saying his client was nay eve and a fool. it s a rigell witch hunt. but claiming trump s comments
