Throughout the month, Empower Yolo and other organizations nationwide are coming together to highlight the need to educate young people about dating violence, teach healthy relationship skills and prevent the cycle of abuse. Dating violence is more common than people think, and girls are particularly vulnerable to experiencing violence in their relationships. One in three girls in the U.S. is a victim of physical, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner, a figure that far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence. ....
