Two iconic NYC food brands open shops at American Dream

A New York City ice cream company and an award-winning Brooklyn pizza shop have opened their first New Jersey locations at the American Dream.
They join a flurry of food and drink purveyors who have opened at the mega-mall in the Meadowlands since it welcomed back visitors in October following a more than six-month shutdown because of the pandemic.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, which started as a truck-based business in 2008, opened Jan. 6 at American Dream. It considers happiness part of being healthy so it doesn’t skimp on fat and uses simple choice ingredients milk, cream, eggs and cane sugar or coconuts, cashews and oats for its vegan flavors. It operates five shops in Los Angeles and 18 in New York City.
