Samoa and 11 other Pacific countries are in a better position to address the unique challenges in preparing for, and responding to oil spills.It follows their participation at the 2023 SpillCon Conference and Regional Workshop on developing oil spill preparedness and response planning in Pacific .
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the "opportunity is ideal" to discuss political and economic partnerships between the Arab countries and the Pacific Small Island countries. Speaking at the second ministerial meeting between Arab League states and the Pacific Small Island Developing States hosted by Saudi Arabia, bin Farhan stressed that Saudi Arabia is keen to deal with joint and pressing global challenges.
In cooperation with partner agencies, the Saudi Ministry of the Interior continues implementing the Makkah Route initiative which saw more than 150,000 Pilgrims arriving to the Kingdom so far. The intiative aims to provide services for pilgrims coming from seven countries including Morocco, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Türkiye and Côte d'Ivoire, as one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030.
