Oskaloosa Boys At State Track
Our boys team celebrated qualifying two events for this past weekend’s State Co-Ed track and Field, held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Friday the quartet of Reed Brown, Waylon Bolibaugh, Tatum Westercamp, and Patrick DeRonde competed in the Distance Medley relay finishing #16 in all of Class 3A in a time of 3:43.90. Saturday Patrick DeRonde returned to the Blue Oval to complete in the 1600. Patrick scraped his way into the top group in the first 2 laps, and held on to finish in 17th place in Class 3A with a final time of 4:39.10.
Our young men had a memorable first experience on the Blue Oval and the underclassmen are determined to return next year. We are proud of their hard work,grit, and positive mindsets during our return to competition this season, culminating with our best competing against the rest of the best around Iowa this weekend. ....
