For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, as many as 47,200 people have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a single day, the Ministry of Health reported on February 20.
As many as 41,980 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in 61 cities and provinces across Vietnam during the past 24 hours, a fall of 459 cases compared to the previous day, the Ministry of Health said in its coronavirus update on February 19.
The number of people infected with the Omicron variant in Vietnam had increased to 192 by February 3, an increase of six cases compared to the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health.
The daily number of coronavirus infections surprisingly rose sharply on February 4, peaking at more than 11,000, after falling to 10,000 or even 9,000 on previous days.
Vietnam has confirmed 15,150 new coronavirus infections in 61 cities and provinces across the country during the past 24 hours, an increase of 221 cases compared to the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
