Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said he will fight against anyone who plans to impose sanctions on units of Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) after reports surfaced that the US is planning to sanction ultra-orthodox Netzah Yehuda Battalion of the IDF for alleged rights violations in the West Bank.
In an unprecedented move, the Biden administration is set to sanction the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, which is accused of violating the human rights of West Bank Palestinians.
“At a time when our soldiers are fighting terrorist monsters, the intention to sanction a unit in the IDF is the height of absurdity and a moral low,” Netanyahu wrote in a post on X.
