Tuesday, lawmakers and pharmacists are raising the alarm about Minnesota losing access to pharmacy care later this year. At the end of 2024, the federal Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness, or PREP Act is expected to expire. An act giving medical resources during a public health emergency.
The substance use and mental health treatment center had to relocate its clients in late November after Olmsted County revoked its food and lodging licenses. Now, the facility likely won't reopen.
"High levels of radon exist in Olmsted County," said Lauri Clements, environmental health lab manager for Olmsted County Public Health Services. "Minnesota’s geology further contributes to the state’s high radon levels."
