On May 27, 2018, Punjabi singer Navjot Singh alias Isapuria Virk was returning home from his music class when he was shot dead. Police said the accused were members of a UP-based gang and wanted to steal the singer’s car.
Nikhil Thakurm the police said, is a habitual offender and had a similar case registered against him in 2021 at Kharar (city) police station following which he spent one-and-a-half years in jail.
