The 5-hour program focuses on teaching your teen defensive driving, as well as emergency off-road recovery, evasive maneuvering and controlled braking.
It is not advisable to off-road until trail conditions improve, says 775 Offroad and Recovery, a volunteer Northern Nevada organization that removes struck and stranded vehicles from public lands. The group noted that especially now with the rain and added snow melt that off-road trails have become saturated with mud.
The 775 Offroad and Recovery non-profit will host a special event in Carson City to promote and support the Northern Nevada off-road community. The 4x4 Off-road Show n Shine will be held May 14 at Casino Fandango in the top level of the parking garage.
