EMERGENCY services are at the scene after a 17-year-old has been stabbed. An air ambulance landed on the grounds of St. Barnabas School and St. Paul s Primary School off Oakenhurst Road, after reports of the stabbing. The teenager suffered a single stab wound to the back but it is not thought to be life-threatening. The incident happened after 5.30pm this evening (April 20) off Wensley Road. Arthur Street at the bottom of Lawrence Street had been cordoned off with police officers still at the scene. A spokesman for Police said: We were called to Lawrence Street, Blackburn, at 5.42pm to reports of an assault.

But top officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) say sites such as Vivastreet and Adultwork can also help to keep women off the streets and safe.
Rob Richardson, head of the NCA’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit, said the sites are widely used to target punters by criminals who fly their victims into the country and force them to sell their bodies for sex.
He said: “We recognise that adult services websites (ASWs) are a significant enabler, and if we are looking at the internet as an enabler of exploitation then ASWs provide the lion’s share of that.
