NU College Republicans to host Alan Keyes

Northwestern College Republicans will host GOP politician and diplomat Alan Keyes on campus, the club announced Wednesday. Keyes will speak at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Swift Hall, according to the group’s Instagram page. Keyes served as Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs.

NU students volunteer for upcoming midterms

With the 2022 midterm elections approaching, Northwestern students are getting involved by volunteering for candidates and helping out-of-state students acquire absentee ballots.  All 435 House of Representatives seats, 34 Senate positions and 36 governorships are on the ballot Nov. 8. ASG supports recusing Board of Trustees chair from presidential search

Associated Student Government passed a resolution calling for the recusal of Board of Trustees Chair J. Landis Martin from Northwestern’s presidential search committee during Wednesday’s session. The bill passed with 17 votes in favor and one nay vote from the NU College Republicans senator.  The legislation cites Martin’s past political donations and decision-making as reasons.
