New this morning a deputy involved shooting. In pasco county. One man is dead. And a pregnant woman caught in the middle, managed to escape. It happened last night in holiday near us 19. Neighbors say they heard a couple fighting in the house around seven last night. They heard a man yell that he had a gun. And thats when they called 911. When deputies arrived, a pregnant woman ran outside. And said the man inside had knives and guns. Deputies also saw the man with a knife. And heard the man say he was . Not going to surrender and deputies would have to kill him. Deputies tried negotiating with him for about two hours. Then, they used tear gas. And the swat team entered. They tased him. And he still charged at deputies. Thats when they opened fire ,killing him. Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco the mans name has not been released because next of kin has not been notified. The pregnant woman and deputies were . Not seriously injured. ....

Special forces, weapons embargo needed to rescue Haiti, says leading Haitian-American priest

MIAMI (OSV News) A leading Haitian-American pastor based in the U.S. said he agrees with a U.N. specialist that international special forces along with a weapons embargo are needed to stop Haiti s further slide as a failed state.

U.N. human rights expert William O Neill, who was appointed to assess the situation in Haiti in April, concluded in late June that a specialized international force is needed to help fight gang violence ravaging the impoverished Caribbean nation.
