Kyle Stephan Willobee, 24, of Luzerne, has been charged with carjacking, assault with a dangerous Weapon, reckless driving and habitual offender third offense. He was arraigned on Monday in the 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County. His bond was set at $25,000.

Man Charged For Hijacking Bus in Kingsley

9 & 10 News May 7, 2021 Michigan State Police say a man has been charged for hijacking a bus in Kingsley. Police say 24-year-old Kyle Willobee boarded the bus at the Bay Area Transportation Authority bus stop in the parking lot of Northland Foods Grocery Store and attempted to take the fire extinguisher out of its holder. The bus driver radioed for help and exited the bus after fearing Willobee would strike him or spray him with the fire extinguisher. Willobee then stole the bus and attempted to turn East on M-113, but was struck by a Westbound car driven by a 29-year-old Manton woman.

MSP: Man arraigned after carjacking bus in northern Michigan Michigan State Police and last updated 2021-05-07 16:30:57-04 GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. — A man was arraigned today after carjacking a bus in Kingsley earlier this week, according to Michigan State Police. We’re told Kyle Stephan Willobee, 24, boarded a Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) bus in the parking lot of Northland Foods Grocery Store before attempting to remove a fire extinguisher from its receptacle. MSP says the bus driver called for help and disembarked, fearing that Willobee might strike him or deploy the fire extinguisher in his direction. Willobee then took control of the bus and tried to turn east on M-113 when he was hit by a 29-year-old woman traveling west in a passenger car, authorities tell us.
