Singers and listeners came from all over Ireland and places like the United States and the United Kingdom for North Wexford Traditional Singing Féile recently.
The history and landscape of Hook Head, early life in Enniscorthy Castle, and a spoken word competition for teenagers are just some of the many events taking place in Co Wexford for Culture Night 2023. This year’s celebration of local culture takes place this coming Friday (September 22) and will feature a series of free events in all of the county’s five districts.
Jazz, dance, traditional song, street dance, and mumming, are just some of the fare on offer at the 20 small festivals approved for funding in Wexford this year. Awarded through the Small Arts Festival Fund and Failte Ireland Festival Scheme a total of €47,000 has been allocated for these local attractions which will take place everywhere from Johnstown Castle to Fuddletown Farm in Killinick.
