Winters celebrates NSMS Championship with Shasta win

Scott Winters of Tracy took the lead away from Kylei Keown of Redwood Valley on the ninth lap of the 60 lap main event, and fought off the challenges of Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah the remaining distance to win his fifth season victory and claim his fourth championship in the North State Modified Series. Winters’ other championships with the Ferrari-Kramer Racing Team came in 2019, 2021 and 2022

North State Modified Series final event at Shasta Speedway

Promoters of the North State Modified Series have announced that the Grand Finale’ event at Shasta Speedway on October 14 will be the final race for the NSMS traveling group. Jeff Stephens, Bob Strauss and Nadine Strauss are retiring the NSMS after having 10 successful seasons with the modified drivers at eight different racing facilities.

Ian Elliot big winner of Dale Baldwin Challenge in Eureka

After a late-race crash that took out leaders Scott Winters of Tracy and Eureka’s Brandon White , Ian Elliott of Lakeport inherited the lead and led the final 20 laps in style to win his first ever modified race in the North State Modified Series “Dale Baldwin Challenge” at Redwood Acres Raceway Saturday night over second place finisher Kylei Keown of Redwood Valley. Elliott earned $2000 for his efforts plus a $200 bonus from Baldwin’s son Mark Baldwin and long-time friend Doyce Eaton.

Modified drivers getting set to race at Eureka tonight

eremy Nowlin of Kelseyville brought his newly-built modified out to Lakeport Speedway Saturday night to “shake it down” before taking it to Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka this weekend to run with the North State Modified Series in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Fall Spectacular. Nowlin was the big main event winner at Lakeport, and is now concentrating on the Dale Baldwin Challenge tonight in Eureka. Also getting ready for the long-tow up north is Kelseyville’s Sal Martinez who finished third at Lakeport Speedway Saturday.
