Fayetteville NC doctor Benjamin Udoh settles Medicaid Medicare claims

RALEIGH – A Fayetteville doctor has agreed to pay $300,000 to settle allegations he fraudulently billed Medicare and Medicaid, according to the U.S. Attorney s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Dr. Benjamin C. Udoh, of Hanora Medical Center, an internal medicine practice that Udoh operates, is alleged to have violated the federal and North Carolina False Claims Acts by submitting false claims for nervous system testing. It is alleged that between January 2016 and May 2020, Udoh and Hanora Medical Center submitted the false or fraudulent claims when the testing services were not medically necessary and/or the medical record did not support medical necessity, a news release said.
