The victim was a ten year old boy and the driver of the vehicle was a Franklin Township Police Officer, and the matter is currently under investigation. Police say the accident happened just after 7 00 p. M. Here on delsea drive near paul street. The ten year old boy and two of his friends were heading to a Slumber Party at the time. One of the childs friends had made it across the street safely. But, police say as the ten year old started to cross he was struck by Franklin Township Police Cruiser and died. Investigators say that officer was responding to a call when the accident happened. It was the only person inside the crewser. We will release more details as we receive them. We would like to offer our deepest condolances to the family of that child. Now, that officer was taken to the hospital for evaluation. No other children were hurt.
